It's a sperm whale! We didn't intend for it to be, but lo and behold...This walnut whale of a board is durable, thick, and pretty. It's got beautiful figure and awesome color contrast between the light and dark wood. Measuring 25" long x 8" wide x 1" thick, this solid board can hold quite a bit. We've kept the natural live edges on both sides and sanded it silky smooth. Someone once said to us "Your boards are literally smoother than a baby's bottom." I'd like to add...they smell better too!
We've included a photo of  a natural, cute, lucky little horse shoe split on one edge (that we've designated as the bottom). It is small and out of the way, and won't affect the board at all. Given the somewhat nautical nature of the board, it would look so good in a sea cottage kitchen and when you are serving  snacks on the deck, overlooking the water, wondering what the whales are up to.
